Three families, one licence line, three different answers

Wan, LTX-Video and Mochi all state Apache 2.0. Behind that identical line sit a 5B text-to-video and image-to-video model, a 13B model with distilled and fp8 variants, and a 10 billion parameter diffusion model. The licence is the same and the answer is not. As of 2026-09-12.

Inclusion rule. Licences are recorded as the repository states them, verbatim. Two repositories stating the same licence are recorded identically even where the surrounding terms differ. Order. Smallest published model first.

1A licence is a permission, not a capability

Apache 2.0 answers what may be done with the files. It says nothing about what the files can produce, what they need to run, or whether the published version is the current one. Three vendors converging on the same permission is a legal fact and not a product comparison.

Readers sorting a register by licence are usually asking a capability question in legal clothes. This site answers the two separately, and this page exists to keep them apart.

2Variants matter more than the headline number

A 13B model with distilled and fp8 variants published alongside it is a different proposition from a 13B model published alone, because the variants are the difference between needing a datacentre card and not. The parameter count in a headline hides that entirely.

Which is why the hardware column here quotes the repository's own figures per variant rather than deriving anything from parameter counts.

3Where the same licence genuinely does differ

One family in this register splits its licence by model size, with the smaller model under Apache and the larger under a vendor-written licence. That is the case where reading only the family name gets a reader the wrong terms.

Split licences get their own rows here for that reason, and the row is keyed to the model rather than the repository.
