LTX Studio: the version sold against the weights published

LTX Studio (ltx.io) sells LTX-2.5 seconds through its API at $0.09 to $0.39. The weights its parent company publishes are LTX-Video, a different release, under Apache 2.0. As of 2026-09-12.

1Same company, two products

Lightricks publishes LTX-Video openly and sells LTX-2.5 as a service. Both are the same company's work and they are not the same model, which makes this the cleanest example in the register of a vendor running both models at once: a permissive release that builds a community, and a hosted version that earns money.

For a production the practical question is which one it is comparing against. A benchmark run on the open weights does not describe the API, and an API price does not describe what the open weights cost to run.

2What running it yourself replaces

At $0.09 a second the hosted rate is the cheapest published band in its family, and running weights locally replaces that rate with hardware and time rather than with nothing. The repository publishes fp8 and distilled variants specifically to lower that hardware cost, which is a clearer statement of intent than any figure.

No minimum VRAM is stated in the repository, so this register does not record one. The variants tell a reader the vendor expects a range of hardware; they do not tell them which card.
